In this quarter's RI News & Views, we discuss our new IxA framework. We want to help investors create positive impact, and this innovative approach is designed to help investors estimate – and increase – the potential impact their investments could have.  

We also reflect on the potential effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is a subject being raised at corporate AGMs. AI is one of our ongoing focus themes in scrutinising asset managers’ stewardship actions and corporate activity. We believe that engaging with companies, investors and asset owners can help mitigate the risks posed by AI, particularly ahead of any regulatory intervention.

In our ESG Snippets, we cover the recently published net zero voting guidance from the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change and the FCA’s policy statement on Sustainability Disclosure Requirements, specifically relating to labelling of sustainable products. We also provide a summary of the legal action by ExxonMobil to block climate proposals, and we note the importance of the ‘blue economy’ in addressing the marine biodiversity crisis.
