All of our technology and digital teams are multi-disciplinary and we collaborate across many skill areas no matter what the piece of work is or where we are adding value. 

We have service, product, content and user experience (UX) designers working with business analysts, software developers and quality engineers, ensuring our teams meet user and business needs.

Most of our products depend on stochastic modelling packages so our teams also include model developers and model quality analysts who are often qualified actuaries. 

Our Experience Design team uses design thinking to solve problems based on user need and jobs to be done, working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary product teams to ensure our products and services are tested with users.

Bringing it all together is our delivery leadership who help the teams bring strategy to life and keep us all disciplined on our agile principles and continuous improvement.

Underpinning the digital teams is a core IT team who provide secure and resilient infrastructures and platforms that are the engine room of our firm.

The combination of different skills makes for a stimulating and satisfying working environment with lots of opportunity to learn and develop while building the best possible solutions for our firm and clients.

We have scaled our organisation structure using networks of communities who get together to cross-pollinate ideas, innovate and push for best practice. The members of these groups are responsible for setting and delivering expectations for their own skill areas. No one knows it better than them, so that makes sense.

We also have expert groups in place where colleagues from key skill areas across multiple teams come together to tackle specific issues. Without these groups we wouldn’t be as successful as we are in delegating CI/CD to our development teams, meeting the stringent security requirements of our industry, or in leading our product design with user experience.

Every single one of us is involved in one or both of these groups, and dedicated time for these activities is protected to ensure we continue to work across teams to achieve our ambitions.

I love the variety in my role. I’m able to continually learn and develop while working in a talented multi-disciplinary digital team, and with a range of stakeholders across our different business units. No two days are ever the same.
