Our 2022 National Knowledge Assessment (NKA) remains open, please get in contact to discuss how your Fund can still take part and tap into the wealth of benchmarking information available.

The assessment will give funds a unique insight into the knowledge levels of Pension Committee and Board members, and will help identify future training needs.

The assessment will also provide funds with a benchmark of current knowledge levels against other LGPS funds' Committee and Boards and will be tracked against the 2020 NKA results. If you would like your Fund to participate, please register your interest below.

Why take part?

By participating in the assessment, funds will receive:

  • Their own Fund results report

  • Individual participant scores

  • Benchmarked Fund results against other LGPS funds and tracked against 2020 results

  • Benchmarked engagement scores

  • Our analysis and suggested next steps

  • A recommended training plan tailored for your Committee and Board

This assessment will provide key evidence and information to all participating LGPS funds on the management of their Fund.

Once we've gathered all the results, we’ll share a national report with our analysis on the current LGPS Committee and Board landscape, and how this compares to the 2020 NKA results.

2022 National Knowledge assessment

The assessment will take 15 - 20 minutes to complete and will be an important step in helping understand where to focus future training requirements for funds, and the LGPS as a whole.

Please get in touch if you have any questions about anything covered above.

We are really pleased that Hymans Robertson is repeating its National Knowledge Assessment – it is a really excellent, practical addition to our training and assessment tools to support our Pension Committee and Pension Board.
Jo Quarterman Norfolk Pension Fund
Merseyside Pension Fund recognises the importance of regular knowledge and skills assessment to inform its training programme and Hymans' National Knowledge Assessment provides not only our local knowledge position but enables us to benchmark against a National position.
Peter Wallach Merseyside Pension Fund
The 2020 National Knowledge Assessment provided West Yorkshire Pension Fund with a strong indication of knowledge levels and allowed us to accurately tailor our training plans. I believe it’s important to carry out this type of assessment to ensure our Fund is on track with its training goals.
