Our Focus on Change series explores the issues relating to the climate transition and the drive toward achieving net zero. In this first instalment of our energy transition three part mini-series, we take stock of the energy transition itself - how far have we come and how far is there still to go? Which technologies are on track and which need to accelerate and what does that mean in terms of the journey to a low carbon world?

COP28 (UN climate conference) was the first global stock take of the collective progress against the Paris Agreement goals by member countries and from this, further commitments have been made to scale and speed up the energy transition. But what could the next phase of the energy transition look like and what could that mean for investment risk and opportunities? Asad Rashid and Mhairi Gooch delve into these themes in our latest report.

Look out for parts 2 and 3 of our Focus on Change energy transition mini-series, where we explore the investment opportunities in more depth particularly in the UK, and in the final instalment, we take a closer look at the transition away from fossil fuels.

For those eager to explore how energy systems might impact investment outcomes, or to discuss pertinent investment risks and opportunities, please get in touch with us or reach out to your regular Hymans Robertson consultant.
