To coin a phrase, ‘a lot can happen in a year’, however, it is fair to say that none of us could have foreseen the new social and economic landscape we find ourselves inhabiting today.

Whilst we were pulling together the final details of our 2019/20 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, the covid-19 outbreak was starting to take hold in the UK, and it’s clear now its impact on individuals, society and economies is deep and significant. Against this backdrop, we redoubled our CSR efforts and have been able to react quickly to ensure we continue to deliver on our commitments across our core CSR pillars - Communities, People, and Environment.

And yet, as we look back over the past year, we have plenty to celebrate in these three areas: volunteering engagement remained strong at over 30% of our workforce; our family friendly policies helped us achieve ‘Best Large Employer 2020’ award from family friendly working Scotland; all four of our offices are now powered by 100% renewable energy. We invite you to learn more about these and other achievements, including how our volunteering and donations of over £250,000 were directed, and how we are taking forward our environmental commitment, in our 2019/20 CSR Report.

Our report also touches on some of our responses to the pandemic situation and notable milestones for the Hymans Robertson Foundation, and we look forward to sharing further updates on these and other core activities throughout the remainder of the year.
