Hymans Robertson makes three new equity partners and promotes nine to partner

Hymans Robertson, the leading independent pensions and financial services consultancy has promoted three partners to the role of equity partner and nine colleagues to partner. This is the largest partner intake in its almost 100 years history.
The firm has promoted; Anthony Ellis (Head of Investment Consultancy), Catherine McFadyen (Head of LGPS), Gill Tait (People Director) to equity partner. Its nine promotions to partner are Clive Moorhead, Elaine Torry, Gary Evans, Heather Meighan, Laura Andrikopoulos, Michael Ambery, Richard Allen, Ross Fleming and Steven Law.
Commenting on the range of promotions across the firm, John Dickson, Senior Partner at Hymans Robertson said:

The new equity partners at Hymans Robertson are:
Anthony Ellis, Head of investment
Anthony joined Hymans Robertson in 2009 as an investment consultant and is based in the firm’s Birmingham office. He has led our investment consulting since 2018 and works across the firm’s core markets and diversifying areas.
Catherine McFadyen, Head of LGPS
Catherine leads the firm’s market leading Local Government Pension Scheme business and has been with Hymans Robertson since 2003. Catherine provides strategic advice to some of the largest LGPS in England and Scotland.
Gill Tait, People director
Gill joined Hymans Robertson in 1996 and has been the firm’s People Director for the majority of that time. Throughout this time Gill has worked build a sustainable business through the strength of employee engagement and cohesion of the partnership.
The new partners are:
Clive Moorhead, Head of digital engineering
Clive has been at Hymans Robertson for the last six years and currently leads the firm’s digital engineering team where he focuses on nurturing efficiencies and excellence through software and model systems development. Clive is based in the firm’s Edinburgh office.
Elaine Torry, Co-head of DB investment
Elaine joined the firm in 2007 as an actuarial trainee before moving into the investment team. A qualified actuary, Elaine has applied those skills to all aspects of defined benefit pensions and is now co-Head of Trustee DB Investment where she is focussed on helping clients build investment strategies.
Gary Evans, Head of TPA
Gary joined the firm in 2018 and leads the firm’s Third-Party Administration business. With over 30 years in the industry Gary has held a number of senior operational and client management roles and sits on the Board of the Pensions Administration Standards Association (PASA).
Heather Meighan, Head of strategic client relationships
Heather joined the firm six years ago with significant experience in developing client relationships. Her role focuses on delivering value to some of the firm’s largest clients, as well as supporting the distribution of its growing digital propositions. Heather is based in the firm’s Glasgow office.
Laura Andrikopoulos, Head of governance
Laura joined Hymans Robertson’s Birmingham office in March 2014 and leads the firm’s Governance Consulting services for private-sector DB and DC schemes. Laura is a qualified actuary and an elected member of the global constituency of the IFoA Council and additionally sits on the Life-long Learning Board and Pensions Board.
Mike Ambery, Head of provider relations
Based in London, Mike joined Hymans Robertson in 2006 from KPMG. He leads the firm’s engagement with Master Trust providers within its DC consulting business. Mike works closely with providers, fund managers and industry bodies to ensure quality DC pension and savings arrangements for today’s workforce.
Richard Allen, Head of propositions, investment services
Richard leads Hymans Robertson’s diversified market areas and is particularly focused on growing the firm’s presence in the retail advisory market. He joined Hymans Robertson in 2014 and is based in its Edinburgh office.
Ross Fleming, Co-head of DB investment
Ross joined Hymans Robertson in 2010 and is based in the firm’s Glasgow office. Ross provides investment advice to trustees and employers of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes and is responsible for leading the development of the firm’s strategy within the firm’s pensions business.
Steven Law, Actuary
Steven joined Hymans Robertson’s Glasgow office in 2004 as an actuarial analyst from Rangers Football Club. He has advised LGPS funds and employers in the wider public sector throughout that time.
