Hymans Robertson LLP has promoted Nick Ford to Head of UK Insurance & Financial Services (IFS) and Iain Macintyre to Head of Risk & Capital, with Andrew Valentine joining the firm as Head of Insurance Strategy. These promotions further grow the IFS team at the leading financial service consultancy.

Nick, a partner within the firm, is promoted to Head of UK Insurance & Financial Services having previously led on Risk and Capital services. He has c.20 years of experience in insurance actuarial consulting and was previously at KPMG for 15 years. In his new role, Nick will be overseeing the firm’s award-winning team of dedicated insurance actuarial and risk professionals across the key service lines of Risk & Capital, Insurance Investment & ALM, Longevity and Products, across the Life Insurance and General Insurance markets.

Iain takes on the role of Head of Risk & Capital, having joined Hymans Robertson in 2022 and previously acting as Head of Capital Management. He has over 20 years of experience and as Head of Risk & Capital, Iain will be leading the team on work supporting our clients on risk and capital management, capital modelling, regulatory requirements, regulated roles, independent expert and assurance and strategy. 

Andrew has been appointed to Head of Insurance Strategy. He is a life actuary with 20 years of industry experience. He joins from Royal London, with experience across a range of areas including court schemes (Part VII and Part 26), with-profits, M&A, bulk annuities, financial reporting, capital modelling, product development and pricing, and non-executive roles. At Royal London he led the successful delivery of a series of major transformation projects. In his new role, drawing on his wide-ranging experience, he will support clients across a variety of strategic and complex projects to achieve their business objectives.
