Overview
Richard is a Partner in our Risk Transfer team and has over 20 years’ experience advising pension scheme trustees and sponsors on endgame strategies, journey planning and designing and executing risk transfer transactions.
Richard’s career spans over 40 transactions, implementing over £10bn of buy-ins/buyouts and £7bn of longevity swaps. He has led some of the most innovative transactions in this space, designing the £5bn Aviva longevity swap, and broking the first combined buy-in and longevity swap framework.
Richard also led independent review of a new commercial off-shore pension de-risking vehicle, and negotiated the first longevity swap conversion to buy-in that transferred reinsurance from one bulk annuity provider to a competitor bulk annuity provider.
