Pension Investment Review: call for evidence – LGPS considerations
11 Sep 2024
After last year’s government consultation on the future of LGPS investments provided a clear indication of their desires, the new Labour government have wasted no time in continuing the trajectory. After announcing their Pensions Review on 20 July, they have quickly launched a call for evidence to all interested parties, with a short deadline of 25 September, including a number of questions focused on LGPS investment.
The call for evidence asks 10 questions across three categories: scale and consolidation; costs vs value; investing in the UK. While many are only applicable to defined contribution (DC) pension schemes, some are specifically for the LGPS.
In the latest publication in our LGPS policy series, Iain Campbell sets out the questions you may wish to respond to, with some thoughts to consider in your responses.
